Wilhelmshaven, 4th October 2021 | First hurdle mastered: The City Council of Wilhelmshaven has initiated the land-use planning for the billion-dollar hydrogen project on the Voslapper Groden-Nord. <\/strong><\/p>\n

John H. Niemann, President of the Wilhelmshavener Hafenwirtschafts-Vereinigung (WHV), is relieved: “The project can become one of the most important building blocks of the energy transition in Germany and lead the Wilhelmshaven energy hub into a completely new future”.<\/p>\n

Tree Energy Solutions (TES) is planning an energy park: a terminal on the Jade, via which gaseous green energy carriers are imported to Wilhelmshaven. The project is to be expanded in several stages by 2050 and will create 700 jobs.<\/p>\n

Around 5.5 million tons of hydrogen could then be provided annually via Wilhelmshaven, which corresponds to 217 terawatt hours of green energy or the annual consumption of around 43 million households.<\/p>\n
