In a conversation with Lower Saxony\u2019s Minister for Economic Affairs, Olaf Lies, and the federal government\u2019s Maritime Coordinator, Dieter Janecek, participants once again emphasised the importance of their seaports as central transhipment centres in north-western Germany for import and export goods. \u201cThe Port of Emden\u2019s role in the energy transition should not be underestimated,\u201d says Reinhard Hegewald, Chairman of EHFG. The Emden delegation was visibly sobered by the speeches of Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Dr Robert Habeck.
