He succeeds Olaf Lies, who stepped down after his appointment as Minister President of Lower Saxony. Lies had been the chairman since 2022. Holger Banik, the managing director of Nports, thanked him on behalf of the company and praised him as the \u201cPort Minister\u201d with vision. In his opening speech, Tonne emphasised the key role of the ports for innovation and transformation.
