The visit focussed on the importance of seaports for the German economy, the energy transition and security of supply. The Federal Chancellor was accompanied by the President of the Bremen Senate, Andreas Bovenschulte, Bremen’s Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation, Kristina Vogt, the Lord Mayor of the City of Bremerhaven, Melf Grantz, Matthias Magnor, Board Chairman of BLG LOGISTICS, and Michael Blach, member on the BLG Board and EUROGATE Group Managing Director, as well as other representatives from the worlds of politics and business. Merz emphasised: “I am impressed by the efficiency of this site. The port of Bremerhaven is indispensable for global trade and a strategically important location – not only for Germany but for the entire European Union.” <\/p>\n
