In a construction pit around 100 metres long on the quay, the first sections of the future cable duct have already been installed. The aim is to bring the facility into operation over the course of this year. Cruise ships will then be able to switch off their onboard power generation while alongside and instead draw green electricity from the shore. This will significantly reduce emissions such as fine particulate matter, nitrogen oxides and CO\u2082.
