BREMEN<\/strong> Current geopolitical developments are having an impact. According to a survey conducted in April by the Bremen Freight Forwarders\u2019 Association among its 150 member companies, trade with the US alone fell by 20 per cent last year \u2013 primarily due to punitive tariffs at US ports. \u201cUncertainty is poison for the markets.\u201d emphasises Thorsten Dornia, Chairman of the Bremen Freight Forwarders\u2019 Association. He adds: \u201c2025 was not a good year.\u201d In his view, it therefore seems almost miraculous that the export business of Bremen\u2019s freight forwarders declined by just half a per cent last year. Imports last year actually increased by almost six per cent.<\/p>\n
