The planned measure could help reduce the existing structural disadvantages faced by German shipping companies in international competition. The BWE also regards the measure as a significant boost for the entire industry. BWE President B\u00e4rbel Heidebroek emphasised that extending the tonnage tax would strengthen wind energy both onshore and offshore. It would stabilise supply chains, improve logistics and lay the foundations for greater value creation in Germany.
