BLG LOGISTICS has once again had its climate targets officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) \u2013 with significantly more ambitious reduction targets than those set during the first validation in 2020. Specifically, the company has committed to reducing direct greenhouse gas emissions from its own business operations \u2013 i.e. from vehicles, facilities and energy consumption at its sites (Scope 1 and 2) \u2013 by 50.4 per cent in absolute terms by 2030 compared to the base year of 2018. For indirect emissions along the entire value chain, which are not directly caused by BLG itself but arise from suppliers or contracted transport (Scope 3), the validated reduction target is 30 per cent over the same period. With this renewed SBTi validation, BLG LOGISTICS has consistently further developed its own climate strategy and, according to Christine Hein, Chief Financial Officer and Head of Sustainability at BLG LOGISTICS, has sent \u201ca clear signal to customers, partners and capital markets\u201d.
