Instead of being moored outside the harbour basin on the opposite bank of the Weser near Seehausen, as was previously the case, there are now two berths directly within Neust\u00e4dter Hafen \u2013 on the eastern side of the harbour basin, immediately behind the Lankenauer H\u00f6ft. \u201cWith these new berths, we are creating better conditions for safe and efficient harbour operations,\u201d said Deputy Harbour Master Joachim Bothe. As today\u2019s sea-going assistance tugs are significantly larger than they were a few years ago, it was also necessary to adapt the berthing arrangements to meet current requirements.
