German Ports’ Alliance makes its public debut in Berlin

01.07.2026

BERLIN The ‘German Ports’ Alliance made its public debut on 10 June 2026 at a high-profile event held at the Hamburg State Representation in Berlin. The new alliance comprises the eight German port infrastructure operators: bremenports, Brunsbüttel Ports, Duisport, Hamburg Port Authority, Port of Kiel, Lübeck Port Authority, Niedersachsen Ports and Rostock Port. The initiative is also supported by the Zentralverband der deutschen Seehafenbetriebe (ZDS). Together – against the backdrop of the energy crisis, global supply chains and changing security policy conditions – they aim to be recognised as a cornerstone of a sustainable infrastructure for the future and to work in unison to drive forward the key issues shaping the future of port development. According to the partners, there is consensus that the competitiveness and resilience of ports can only be secured in the long term through clear political direction and reliable financing structures.
