Hapag-Tochter steigt am Eurogate-Terminal in Hamburg ein

01.07.2026

HAMBURG The terminal operator Hanseatic Global Terminal (HGT) is taking a stake in the Eurogate container terminal CTH in Hamburg. As Hapag-Lloyd, HGT’s parent company, announced at the end of June 2026, the parties have agreed on the key terms of a 20 per cent stake for HGT in the terminal. Eurogate stated that the agreement had been reached as part of a strategic partnership that the two companies wish to pursue. To this end, a term sheet has been signed which, amongst other things, provides for HGT to participate in the westward expansion of the Port of Hamburg and for Hapag-Lloyd and Eurogate to cooperate more closely in Tangier, Morocco.
