NATO Operation “Steadfast Dart 26” at the Port of Emden

20.01.2026

The Port of Emden as a hub for the largest NATO exercise of the year:
Eleven nations are participating in Operation “Steadfast Dart 26” with around 10,000 soldiers who are currently arriving in Germany. A significant part of the logistics for this large-scale exercise is being handled via the Port of Emden. As early as last week, various military vehicles of an Italian unit rolled off a RoRo vessel onto the Ems quay—effectively supported by the logistics services of the Emden port industry.

“Steadfast Dart 26” is designed to train the rapid deployment of troops and materiel within NATO territory, thereby demonstrating the Alliance’s defensive capability against potential attacks.
