BRAKE. In December, NPorts and the town of Nordenham launched a joint expression-of-interest procedure to explore the future use of the Großen¬siel port area. Under the project name “Waterkant Nordenham”, the roughly 12-hectare site in southern Nordenham – once an important transshipment hub for general and bulk cargo – is to be transformed into a modern residential and leisure district featuring gastronomy, hotels, tourism services and selected commercial uses. “The location directly on the Weser offers great potential for a district development that will enrich our city’s residential and leisure offering,” said Nils Siemen, Mayor of Nordenham.
Car train is transporting 200 vehicles by rail
WILHELMSHAVEN. Mosolf Port Logistics & Services is using rail transport for the first time to move imported cars in Wilhelmshaven. At the Nordfrost seaport terminal, 200 vehicles from the Chinese manufacturer BYD were loaded at the end of May.
