HAMBURG. Together with Hamburg’s Senator for Economic Affairs and Innovation, Dr Melanie Leonhard, and the main contractor Gieseke, the CEO of BLG LOGISTICS, Matthias Magnor, laid the foundation stone for a sustainable site development in the Port of Hamburg on 17 September 2026. BLG is investing around 25 million euros in this project. “By investing in this site, we are setting an example for the future of the Port of Hamburg and creating the ideal conditions to meet the demands of automotive logistics of the future,” said Magnor. Completion of the new multifunctional hall there is scheduled for September 2027. It will cover a floor area of around 10,300 square metres. Compared with the current facilities, this represents a space optimisation of around 35 per cent. The hall features a central logistics area of around 4,500 square metres, where workshop processes and lifting platforms can be arranged according to customer requirements.
