BREMEN. Despite geopolitical crises, a weakening German economy and ongoing uncertainties in global trade, the BLG Logistics Group has closed its 2025 financial year on a stable note.
Double jubilee for MSZ

CUXHAVEN. The Maritime Safety and Security Centre (MSZ) in Cuxhaven is celebrating two jubilees in 2022. On the one hand, operations started 15 years ago in the Joint Assessment Centre Sea, the very heart of MSZ. On the other, it was five years ago that the institution of the federal government and the five German coastal states moved into the city marina. All federal and state authorities responsible for safety at sea are grouped together here: police, customs, federal waterways and shipping administration, water police and the Central Command for Maritime Emergencies.

Extension of tonnage tax boosts wind energy
BERLIN/HAMBURG. The Offshore Wind Energy Foundation and the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) have expressly welcomed the plan by the Federal Government’s Coordinator for Maritime Economy and Tourism, Dr Christoph Ploß, to extend the tonnage tax to vessels in the offshore wind sector.

BREMERHAVEN. The Bremen Senate is providing around 56 million euros for the expansion. Among other things, these funds will be used to build seven additional tracks, each approximately 740 metres long. Bremerhaven sets an example for green shipping
BREMERHAVEN. Together with the Port of Antwerp and the South Korean Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Corporation, Bremerhaven took a step towards low-emission shipping in April. At the “International Green RoRo Shipping Corridor and Decarbonisation Workshop” in Bremerhaven, the partners issued a joint statement announcing the launch of a green shipping corridor.
