BREMEN. Former Bremen senator for economics and ports Josef Hattig died on 31 July at the age of 89. Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte paid tribute to Hattig as a “politician of extraordinary stature who always stated his convictions in a straightforward and consistent manner.” The CDU politician, who had no previous party career, was initially senator for economics, SMEs and technology, and from 1999 ports, supra-regional transport and foreign trade were added to his brief.
MOSOLF Group Restructures Leadership and Focuses on Continuity: Patrick Oestreich Appointed CEO

Patrick Oestreich (46) will join the Executive Board on February 1, 2026, and will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on July 1, 2026. Dr. Jörg Mosolf will support the transition in his current role until his age-related retirement on June 30, 2026. Dr. Mosolf will continue to serve as Managing Director of MOSOLF Port Logistics & Services and will remain closely involved as an advisor to the Executive Board in the areas of M&A and corporate strategy.
