BREMERHAVEN. A new position paper from the port’s stakeholders and bremenports outlines how the Überseehafen can become CO₂-neutral by 2035. Based on extensive analyses – including a so-called “digital twin” of the port’s energy demand – the paper sketches concrete pathways and technical options for transitioning to a sustainable, emission-free energy supply. It consolidates findings from the major project “CO₂-Neutral Überseehafen ” presents areas of action for renewable energies, infrastructure, and decarbonization strategies, and thus provides guidance for the transformation process toward climate-friendly port operations.
