BERLIN. The ‘German Ports’ Alliance made its public debut on 10 June 2026 at a high-profile event held at the Hamburg State Representation in Berlin. The new alliance comprises the eight German port infrastructure operators.

EMDEN. In mid-June, members of the NPorts Supervisory Board were briefed on the progress of construction work on the new large-vessel berth in Emden’s outer harbour. The large-vessel berth is being built to a length of around 337 metres and will in future enable the handling of large vehicle and general cargo ships.

HOLZWICKEDE / DORTMUND. Rhenus Road Freight received official approval in June 2026 to build a transshipment centre in Dortmund. The new site, which is scheduled for completion and commissioning in 2027, will replace the existing Road Freight site in nearby Unna.

BRAKE. Around 250 personnel from the Havariekommando and the Technisches Hilfswerk (THW) took part in a large-scale exercise in the Brake area from 26 to 28 June 2026 to practise their cooperation in oil spill response.
