BHV Flash Survey sends a clear signal

06.11.2026

BREMEN. The port and logistics sector in the state of Bremen is cautiously optimistic about 2026: 46 per cent of companies expect turnover to rise. This is shown by a flash survey (Blitzumfrage) conducted by the BHV – Bremische Hafen- und Logistikvertretung – amongst 72 member companies. At the same time, those surveyed see a considerable need for political action: for 79 per cent, infrastructure and accessibility are among the most important tasks for the next Senate. “Ahead of the state parliamentary election, businesses are sending a clear signal: the next state government must put the renewal of transport and port infrastructure right at the top of its agenda. We need clear priorities, binding timetables and secure funding for the necessary investments,” says BHV Executive Committee spokesperson Eduard Dubbers-Albrecht. Respondents see the greatest need for action in the areas of roads and bridges (67 per cent) as well as port facilities and quays (35 per cent). Regardless of the weighting of individual issues in the survey, the BHV regards the Weser river adaptation as a further, strategically important infrastructure project for the ports of Bremen.
