From Berne to the Caribbean

02.11.2026

BERNE The Fassmer shipyard has recently completed four new lifeboats for its client Princess Cruises, a subsidiary of the Carnival Corporation, and shipped them from Hamburg to the Caribbean on 14 October. The PLL 1099-type boats have a capacity of 150 passengers in the event of an emergency. They can also be used to carry 122 guests on tender services. In the Caribbean, the 11-metre-long and 5-metre-wide multi-purpose boats are to be deployed on board the cruise ship “Coral Princess”. Back in 2024, Fassmer had already delivered four new lifeboats for the sister ship “Island Princess”, which has a capacity of around 2,000 passengers.
