Bremerhaven: Deichbeirat seeks new members

02.11.2026

BREMERHAVEN Until 13 November 2026, interested contributors from the Bremerhaven urban area can apply to the Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation to become members of the Deichbeirat. Established in 2010, the Advisory Board promotes public participation in flood protection and ensures transparency regarding the use of the relevant contribution funds. Its members are regularly informed about measures and the use of funds, and can see for themselves the condition of the structures during dike inspections. The application forms and the Articles of Association are available at www.haefen.bremen.de and at www.bremenports.de. Further information on becoming a member is also available from the spokesperson for the Deichbeirat, Horst Cordes ((horst.cordes@outlook.de), and from Dr Anne Schwientek at the Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation (anne.schwientek@wht.bremen.de).
