Bremen Ports see positive growth in 2025

BREMEN Compared to 2024, container throughput in Bremen’s ports grew by 10.3 per cent in 2025. After around 4.4 million TEU in 2024, around 4.9 million TEU were handled in 2025. March 2025 was the most successful month with 431,000 TEU. In total, over 58 million tonnes of general cargo and seven million tonnes of bulk cargo passed through the quaysides in Bremen’s ports. This brings the total throughput to over 65 million tonnes. Compared to 2024, this represents an increase of 5.4 per cent. Looking at the throughput of the individual ports in Bremen, Bremerhaven handled a total of just under 56 million tonnes, while Bremen city handled 9.3 million tonnes. Bremerhaven was thus able to increase its throughput by 9.3 per cent, while Bremen city lost 13 per cent.
