BSK Forum: Handling heavy-haul transport more efficiently

01.07.2026

BREMEN/BREMERHAVEN. Wind power, infrastructure and permits – these topics were at the top of the agenda on 23 and 24 June 2026 at the specialist forum on intermodal heavy-haul transport in Bremen and Bremerhaven. The event was organised by the Bundesverband Schwertransporte und Kranarbeiten (BSK). The agenda included a tour to the Eurogate Terminal at Bremerhaven and to the Neustadt Harbour in Bremen, with their specialised facilities for heavy cargo, alongside presentations and in-depth discussions. All participants agreed that, to cope with the wind power industry’s expansion plans, considerable logistical capacity and the use of all modes of transport are required. Furthermore, there is an urgent need for infrastructure suitable for large-scale and heavy haulage.
