WILHELMSHAVEN At the invitation of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Construction, a joint meeting took place at the JadeWeserPort in October 2026 with representatives of the German Armed Forces, in particular the regional commands from Lower Saxony and Bremen. During the event, NPorts Managing Director Holger Banik began by introducing the guests to the JadeWeserPort and its significance as Germany’s only deep-water container port. The subsequent discussion centred on the Operations Plan Germany (OPLAN DEU) and the question of the importance of efficient port and logistics infrastructure in the context of national and alliance defence. Together, the participants discussed current threat scenarios, possible impacts on Lower Saxony’s seaports, and the requirements for resilient structures.
