Seven climate protection projects in one go

31.03.2021

BREMERHAVEN. “H2Bx.MariTransGate”: This abbreviation stands for an ambitious climate protection and transport transformation project for which bremenports has , in cooperation with the Bremerhaven Investment Promotion and Urban Development Corporation (BIS), submitted a IPCEI expression of interest in March. The purpose of the project, funded by three Federal Ministries (Economic Affairs and Energy, Transport and Digital Infrastructure, and Environment), is to provide important impetus for the implementation of the National Hydrogen Strategy. “With this submission, we want to profile Bremerhaven as a test field for hydrogen technologies in the maritime transport sector,” states bremenports Managing Director Robert Howe. “What is particularly significant here is that the seven individual projects presented within the framework of the joint project are closely related to one another. The 180-page project outline addresses the production of green hydrogen from renewable energies, and concrete possibilities for its use at the international transport hub Bremerhaven, but also the import of hydrogen.”
