Several waterways were created with a total water surface of 6,600 square metres, which should serve as a spawning area for different species of fish. “Habitats are also improved for other animal species such as amphibians, reptiles, birds and otters,” explains Thomas Wieland, who as a landscape architect and Head of the Compensation Team at bremenports is responsible for the project.
