BREMEN/BREMERHAVEN. In November, Bremen and Bremerhaven had their exemplary environmental performance certified by Lloyd’s Register again in accordance with the PERS (Port Environmental Review System) management standard.

WASHINGTON. Two new chairpersons were appointed to the Supervisory Board of the World Shipping Council (WSC) in November. They are Rolf Habben Jansen (r), CEO of Hapag-Lloyd, and Jeremy Nixon (l), CEO of Ocean Network Express (ONE).

CUXHAVEN. For the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Group’s deep-sea RORO liner service from Europe to China, Cuxport loaded over 3,500 premium vehicles onto the ships “Tiger” and “Torino” in November.

WILHELMSHAVEN. Within a year, Mosolf transformed the idea of exporting vehicles from Wilhelmshaven by ocean-going vessel into reality: In November, the Grimaldi Group’s first ship, the Grande Portogallo, moored at Mosolf Auto Terminal to load 600 vehicles.

NORTHERN GERMANY. The members of the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany (MCN) elected a new board in November. Since then, the new Chairperson has been Knut Gerdes (r).

CUXHAVEN. In November, the 500th nacelle for an offshore wind turbine was completed at Siemens Gamesa in Cuxhaven.

OSNABRUCK/BREMEN. The full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is expanding its Bremen site and building what they describe as a “state-of-the-art digitised freight forwarding facility” in Ludwig-Erhard-Straße.

BREMEN. In November, bremenports announced that the container ship “Al Kharj” had completed its stay at the Kaiserhafen’s west quay and had left the port.

WILHELMSHAVEN. On Tuesday, February 9th, 2021, Jade-Dienst GmbH, together with Jade Car Logistics GmbH, welcomed the PELAGIC PIRANHA to its own quay for the first time.

BREMERHAVEN. From November, Mikkel E. Andersen took over the management of EUROGATE Container Terminal Bremerhaven (CTB) in addition to his work as managing director of EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven (CTW).

CUXHAVEN. In November, the semi-submersible ship “Rolldock Sea” took the dredging barge “Gian Lorenzo Bernini” on board at Cuxport Terminal in Cuxhaven.

BREMEN. Since November, BLG LOGISTICS and SecureSystem have been testing a newly developed service for smooth and secure transport routes within the framework of the “FastLane” project.

BRAKE. J. MÜLLER organises the first direct train with pulp to Chongqing, China. It provides an additional, faster and above all environmentally-friendly way of connecting Northern Europe with Central China.

BREMEN. A comprehensive academic researcher will examine the market positioning of Bremen’s ports in the coming months in a study commissioned by bremenports.

CUXHAVEN. The “Rolldock Sea”, a semi-submersible vessel flying the Dutch flag, arrived at the Cuxport Terminal in Cuxhaven on 15 November. The semi-submersible vessel took on board the “Gian Lorenzo Bernini” backhoe dredger there and is now transporting it to Mozambique.

CUXHAVEN. Cuxport loaded more than 3,500 premium vehicles on board the “Tiger” and “Torino” vessels for the deep-sea RoRo scheduled services operated by the Wallenius-Wilhelmsen Group from Europe to China at the beginning of November. The handling procedures took place at the terminal’s berth 4 within just one week.

WILHELMSHAVEN. Within just one year, the idea of the CEO of the MOSOLF Group, Dr. Jörg Mosolf, to export vehicles from Wilhelmshaven by seagoing ship has become a reality: On Saturday, the GRANDE PORTOGALLO, the first ship of the Italian Grimaldi Group, moored at the MOSOLF Auto Terminal Wilhelmshaven to load around 600 vehicles.

CUXHAVEN. At the 47th general meeting of the Cuxhaven Port Association (HWG) in the community hall of Cuxhaven, the 15-members board of directors was confirmed in office for the next two years. In addition, Marc Itgen, head of Cuxhaven’s Economic Development Agency, reinforces the committee of the maritime industry’s lobby with immediate effect.

BREMEN. As of September 1st, bremenports will have ten new vacancies for apprentices.

OLDENBURG. Whether one’s dream job is industrial engineer, electronic engineer or office manager, these and many other professions can be learned in the ports of Lower Saxony.

BREMEN. Former Bremen senator for economics and ports Josef Hattig died on 31 July at the age of 89.

BREMEN. Achim Boehme, chief executive of container ship and bulk carrier Lomar Shipping, died on 25 July 2020 at the age of 56.

OSNABRÜCK. The end of 2015 saw generational change at fashion logistics company Meyer & Meyer.

BRuSSELs. After almost one and a half years, the SRD Directorate, which is responsible for accounting, budget issues, insurance and IT within the EU Commission’s Directorate-General for Transport, has now been given permanent management again. France’s Anne Montagnon has been appointed as the new director.

BREMEN. As part of the reorganisation of its management structure, Christian Böttcher has been made regional head for EMEAI at international logistics service provider Leschaco.

BREMEN. Alexander Global Logistics opened an office in Shanghai on September 1st.

HAREN (EMS). At the beginning of July, Hendrik Stöhr (left) was appointed second managing director at shipping company Deymann Management.
