BHV Bootcamp: Laying the Foundations

02.11.2026

BREMEN/BREMERHAVEN In October 2026, the BHV – Bremen Port and Logistics Association – organised its first-ever bootcamp for first-year apprentices. The three-day programme was open to 21 young professionals from BHV member companies, who gained practical insights into the world of ports and logistics.  Among other things, they learnt about the operations of a container terminal at Eurogate in Bremerhaven. Wallenius Wilhelmsen and the BLG AutoTerminal Bremerhaven also provided information on the work of a RoRo shipping company and the handling of rolling stock. In Bremen, with the support of BLG Cargo Logistics, PTS Logistics and Friedrich Tiemann & Sohn, the programme included a ship tour, insights into project logistics and professional stowage techniques. In addition, GVZ Entwicklungsgesellschaft Bremen introduced the participants to the freight transport centre.  “Those who are familiar with the processes in port and logistics operations and have contacts with key personnel gain a better understanding of the interconnections within our industry and lay the foundations for their own professional network at an early stage. That is precisely why we launched the bootcamp,” said BHV Managing Director Petra Lüdeke.
