Bremen ports increase total throughput
BREMEN/BREMERHAVEN. Despite the pandemic, Bremen‘s ports increased their total throughput in the first quarter of this year by 3.1 per cent to 17,482 million tonnes compared to the same period last year.

WILHELMSHAVEN. After NORDFROST inaugurated the rail connection at its seaport terminal in the container port of Wilhelmshaven in June 2021, a direct train coming from China is now in process. This is linked to the hope that the con-tainer port of Wilhelmshaven will be firmly integrated into the “One Belt – One Road” initiative, the so-called New Silk Road.

Wilhelmshaven. In the middle of the week, the new NORDFROST railway system, which connects the company’s seaport terminal with the public rail network, was inaugurated for the first time within a small circle. Combined transports are now available for all types of goods, which further increases the attractiveness of the Wilhelmshaven container port.
BREMEN. Since May 1, Oliver Meng has been appointed as an additional managing director of Addicks & Kreye Container Logistik GmbH & Co. KG and Wilhelm Müller GmbH & Co. KG have been appointed. Both companies belong to the Addicks & Kreye group of companies, which combines several service companies in the fields of container loading and unloading, service & depot, logistics and cargo control.
WASHINGTON. The World Shipping Council (WSC) has filled two management positions with leading environmental experts.
BREMERHAVEN. EUROGATE appointed Florian Brandt as temporary director of MSC Gate Bremerhaven bestellt in May.

CUXHAVEN. “There is a lot planned for Cuxhaven in 2021, with much construction and investment for the future,” said NPorts CEO Holger Banik at a press meeting in April.

Osnabrück. In March, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics appointed Patrick Oestreich its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
CUXHAVEN. Cuxhaven in Lower Saxony and Brunsbüttel in Schleswig-Holstein have been connected by the Elbe once more since March.
Oldenburg. Seaports of Niedersachsen has used a modern design for its new, completely revised homepage since March.
LYSAKER. Change in leadership at Norwegian-Swedish shipping company Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
Bremen. The “H2Cool Prelude” began in March. As part of the project, a consortium is researching how hydrogen and fuel cell technology can be used for deep freeze logistics in lorries in the future, to achieve positive results for the environment.
Bremerhaven. Already in use in Emden and Wilhelmshaven since last year, “Seabin” has been undergoing tests in the Kaiserhafen of Bremerhaven since March.
