BREMEN The B.Group has “performed better than expected” in the 2025 financial year, despite difficult economic and geopolitical conditions. This was stated by Chief Executive Matthias Magnor at the 146th Annual General Meeting in June 2026.

HAMBURG. At its annual general meeting in June 2026, WISTA Germany elected a new executive board. Five of the seven board positions were filled by new members. These included the position of President, to which Carolyn Köhler (Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement) was elected as the successor to Cathrin Prikker (Top Glory Marine Service).

WILHELMSHAVEN / PRAGUE For more than ten years, JadeWeserPort has been highlighting the advantages of Germany’s only deep-water container port at various venues as part of the “Hafen trifft Festland” event series.

BREMERHAVEN. Together with Bremen’s Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation, Kristina Vogt, BLG CEO Matthias Magnor and Axel Krichel, member of the Executive Board and COO of the BLG Group, officially inaugurated the new BLG Südhafen “Roter Sand” site in Bremerhaven at the end of May 2026.

WILHELMSHAVEN. Mosolf Port Logistics & Services is using rail transport for the first time to move imported cars in Wilhelmshaven. At the Nordfrost seaport terminal, 200 vehicles from the Chinese manufacturer BYD were loaded at the end of May.

Elsfleth. A good day for the seaports of Brake, Nordenham, and Oldenburg: On Monday, the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new railway bridge over the Hunte near Elsfleth took place in the presence of Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder, Lower Saxony’s Minister-President Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony’s Minister of Economic Affairs Grant Hendrik Tonne, and DB InfraGO CEO Philipp Nagl.

BREMEN. BLG LOGISTICS has once again had its climate targets officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) – with significantly more ambitious reduction targets than those set during the initial validation in 2020.

WILHELMSHAVEN. Uniper Hydrogen has launched an open season for the allocation of capacity at its planned hydrogen import terminal in Wilhelmshaven. This facility will enable the import of hydrogen via ammonia in future.

HAMBURG The Eurokai Group, which operates 12 container terminals at nine locations in Europe and North Africa through its shareholdings, posted largely positive figures in the first three months of 2026.

BREMEN. Despite geopolitical crises, a weakening German economy and ongoing uncertainties in global trade, the BLG Logistics Group has closed its 2025 financial year on a stable note.

BERLIN/HAMBURG. The Offshore Wind Energy Foundation and the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) have expressly welcomed the plan by the Federal Government’s Coordinator for Maritime Economy and Tourism, Dr Christoph Ploß, to extend the tonnage tax to vessels in the offshore wind sector.

BREMERHAVEN. The Bremen Senate is providing around 56 million euros for the expansion. Among other things, these funds will be used to build seven additional tracks, each approximately 740 metres long. There are also plans to digitise the existing infrastructure to improve the port’s connection to the hinterland.

HAMBURG. Moderate growth for 2026, pre-crisis levels achievable by 2029 – this is the forecast from the Central Association of German Seaport Operators (ZDS) in response to the “Rolling Medium-Term Forecast for Freight and Passenger Transport” published in April 2026 by the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM).

WILHELMSHAVEN In April and May, the “2026 Wilhelmshaven China Roadshow” will tour China, led by the EUROGATE Group and Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH. At stops in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Qingdao, Ningbo and Yiwu, it will showcase Germany’s only deep-water port, the JadeWeserPort to logistics companies and shippers.

NORDEN Anja Bokeloh (centre) is to take over the management of the NPorts site in Norden and will therefore be responsible for the port infrastructure on the East Frisian coast. Since 1 December 2025, she has been working closely with the current branch manager, Friedrich Voß.

CUXHAVEN. This year, NPorts is investing a total of €82.5 million in various infrastructure projects in Cuxhaven and Stade. A key focus of these measures is the construction of berths 5–7 in Cuxhaven.

BREMEN. Current geopolitical developments are having an impact. According to a survey conducted in April by the Bremen Freight Forwarders’ Association among its 150 member companies, trade with the US alone fell by 20 per cent last year – primarily due to punitive tariffs at US ports.

WILHELMSHAVEN. On 1 May 2026, Holger Banik will take over as managing director of the state-owned Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven JadeWeserPort-Marketing GmbH & Co. KG, succeeding Marc-Oliver Hauswald, who has led the company since August 2023.

WILHELMSHAVEN. The Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsamt (WSA) Weser-Jade-Nordsee announced in March the successful completion of the major refurbishment and conversion of the sliding gate at the Wilhelmshaven sea lock.

WILHELMSHAVEN. The Wilhelmshaven site is set to become even more attractive to the maritime industry. This is because NPorts plans to invest a total of 25 million euros this year alone.

OSNABRÜCK/DUBAI. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and Samvardhana Motherson International Limited signed a joint venture agreement in March to establish a globally focused automotive logistics company.
